Yin Yoga for Chest and Shoulder Opening class focus on opening the arms and chest with longer holds of mindful stretches. This is excellent for counteracting the effects of prolonged hours sitting at a desk or working on a computer, hunching of body and poor posture from lifestyle, releasing you of the tension accumulated within your upper body. This style of yoga practice also help to stretch your muscles and release tension of the stiff upper body, increase your flexibility and range of motion, as well as increase your energy level. Increasing blood circulation to your upper body can also help to relieve your neck tension and prevent stiffness. Expect a session that is firm but gentle, soft but strong, and physical but introspective. It creates a perfect balance between lengthening and strengthening our tissues, and invites silent meditative space into our practice.
